2 cups raw cashews
1½ cups maple syrup

1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice (blend)

Ingredients for the salad:
1/2 cup dried chickpeas
1/2 cup pearl barley
4 1/2 ounces green beans, trimmed
1 pound pumpkin (or other squash), unpeeled, sliced thinly
